Know your Weingarten rights — before a supervisor calls you in

New hires and old-timers both: if a meeting with a supervisor could lead to discipline, you have the right to a steward IN THE ROOM. Say the words: 'If this discussion could lead to my discipline, I request my union representative be present.' Then stop talking. The company does not have to tell you your rights — that is why we do. Wallet cards at the hall.

Used mine last month. The tone of the meeting changed the second the steward sat down. Know your rights, use your rights.
