We got organized because we had to. Riverside Mutual Aid & Tenants Union is the residents of six buildings along the Riverside corridor — neighbors who learned that a maintenance ticket filed alone disappears, and the same ticket filed by forty units gets a boiler tech in the basement by Friday. We keep a conditions file, run a tool library and a buy-nothing exchange, stock an eviction-defense fund, and buy in bulk what the landlord won't provide. Mutual aid isn't charity — it's neighbors refusing to let each other fall. Nobody faces the landlord alone. Not on this corridor.
